The Purpose of this blog is to write about plot, character, and theme developement while I read the novel, "The Great Gatsby", by F.Scott Fitzgerald. My intent of this blog is to write a summary of each chapter, describe how the characters change throughout the novel and connect the main theme to the real world. Theme Development

At the end of the novel, Nick talks alot about the American Dream. People's dreams act as motivation to reach goals but in reality the dream is unobtainable. It is inevitable that people try to follow a dream and try to re-live the past to make it part of their future. trying to live the American dream is corrupt because in the process you damage yourself and you damage others.

"The Lion King" Disney movie has a great message about the past and how we have to learn from it, not try to re-live it.
