Welcome!

The Purpose of this blog is to write about plot, character, and theme developement while I read the novel, "The Great Gatsby", by F.Scott Fitzgerald. My intent of this blog is to write a summary of each chapter, describe how the characters change throughout the novel and connect the main theme to the real world. Character Development

Jay Gatsby

Gatsby has enough money to have a party every Saturday night at his house. When Nick meets Gatsby he notices that Gatsby does not drink alcohol or dance at his own parties. Gatsby is having parties for other reasons than enjoyment or fun. Nick is still curious where Gatsby's wealth comes from because after the war Gatsby became rich but Nick is still working his ass off to make some money.

Jordan Baker

Nick describes Jordan's golfing scandal where she kicked her ball out of a rough patch of grass. Nick is developing a relationship with Jordan but he calls her a liar due to her past scandal.
