character development

Tom has become very angry with Gatsby and believes he is fake. Tom believes Gatsby's wealth comes from illegal bootlegging and calls him a coward for leaving the scene of the car accident. Tom shows hatred towards Gatsby because he is in love with his wife Daisy and is trying to steal her away from him. Tom is also angry because his lover Myrtle is dead so Tom's love affair with her is over. Tom shows alot of aggression towards Gatsby and continues to develop hatred towards him.
