The Purpose of this blog is to write about plot, character, and theme developement while I read the novel, "The Great Gatsby", by F.Scott Fitzgerald. My intent of this blog is to write a summary of each chapter, describe how the characters change throughout the novel and connect the main theme to the real world. Plot Development

Chapter 3

One day Nick gets an invitation to one of Gatsby's luxurious parties and decides to attend the party. At the party he bumps into Jordan Baker and they begin to talk. Both Nick and Jordan are curious about Gatsby because they have been invited to his party but they have never met him. They hear ridiculous rumours about Gatsby such as that he once killed a man or that he was a spy in the German army. Their curiosity leads them to the library where they look for Gatsby but do not find him anywhere. In the library They find a strange drunk man that Nick calls Owl Eyes. Later during the party Nick and Jordan sit at a table with a man that says Nick looks familiar to him. After talking they find out that Nick and this man served in the same division during the war. This man introduces himself as Jay Gatsby and Nick is shocked that he has finally met the mysterious Gatsby. Gatsby takes Jordan into the library to talk privately, leaving Nick behind for quite some time. After a while they exit together and Jordan is excited of the extraordinary news she has learnt but says she cannot tell Nick. Nick says goodnight and thanks to Gatsby then begins to walk home. On his way home Nick observes an extremely drunk man crash his car into a ditch. Once home Nick reflects on his life ans talks about Jordan baker and her golfing scandal. he describes how he is developing love towards her but concludes that she is a liar and that he is one of the few honest people left.
