Theme Development

As a teenager, Gatsby's dream was always about becoming rich and successful.  James Gatz even creates an alter ego for himself so he can live his life as someone who he thinks is better than who he really is. His experiences around the rich lifestyle have mad him want to achieve the American Dream of success and wealth. Gatsby has sadly dedicated his life to this corrupt dream and believes that money can buy Daisy's love.
